At ANS we have a lot of talented students. There are artists, musicians, engineers, writers, readers and others. There are many people we would like to be nominated, but there is one talented, creative and extraordinary student. The Tiger Times had talked to Ms. Chica and she has chosen an artist of the month of April. We would like to congratulate Carlos Roberto Navarro from 8th grade that has been chosen as the artist of the month. We are very proud of you Carlos, you are very talented!
Ms Chica said that he did and impressive drawing flowers using Georgia O'keeffe's style and using many other styles. From Ms. Chica’s perspective his perseverance and his confidence that he is going to do the drawing right will help him in his future, if he decides to put art in his life. Carlos doesn’t have a favorite drawing style but he really likes to recreate drawings and then modify them. He says that its very creative and it lets his imagination flow freely.Carlos has never gone to a painting school so he doesn’t have much experience in drawing. Also he doesn’t know much about painting but he really likes to draw.
Carlos sees future as a second option in his future but he will look for a job in which he can use art to be better at it. “I really feel that what Ms. Chica has taught me has made me better at drawing, because I really didn’t know that much about art until Ms. Chica started teaching me, Sometimes I just think about what would happen in my life if I decide to be and artist. I think being an artist is fun. I actually enjoy drawing.” About 60% percent of the things he draws come from the internet or any other type of social media, after he changes modifies it however he wants. The 40% percent that doesn't come from social media comes from his mind.
